Ozma of Oz Hallowe'en '08

YAY! I made it!

You'd be surprised how little sewing was involved in making the dress. It's only a kingsize bedsheet I bought, cut in half and sewed straps onto. Headress is just paper, a hairband, card, ribbons and glue, and the sceptre is just a bamboo cane with card and a ribbon. (I don't like the sceptre - it looks a little too Sailor Moon-ish).
I wear silver ballet pumps with it - I was trying to get cross-ankle straps like in the ullustrations of Ozma, but just settled with silver shoes in the end, which is kind of a nod to both the books and 'Return to Oz'. Nobody actually knows who I'm meant to be, but I don't care.

My sister went as Pippi Longtsocking and my brother is going as a Droog from 'A Clockwork Orange'. Forgive the lack of technicalities in the latter costume description, but I'm not really familiar with 'A Clockwork Orange', so...

I had no idea what category to put this in, so I went with Make-up.
